Who is to say humanity is NOT alone?

Whilst there must be countless stars in the universe, with potential for many habitable worlds like the Earth, who is to say humans are not the only sapient beings in the universe?

It may seem illogical, but then it could be that in all of the universe, our solar system is the only one capable of supporting sapient life. It’s certainly not a point that can be ruled out absolutely.

You’re absolutely right. As of this moment there isn’t any conclusive evidence of extraterrestrial life nor of a near-conclusive potential for life elsewhere. However, which is more likely? That in a universe whose vastness is inconceivable to our tiny mammalian brains we are alone or that we are not?

Then again, the singularity of mankind’s existence as the only sapient life-form is absurd but not impossible, and “not-impossible” things happen all the time.
