Who were you in your past life?

Paula (@the1paula) 8 years, 9 months ago

I’m not sure if I believe in reincarnation, but I often think about who I may have been in a past life. Whether you believe or not, I want to know who or what you think you were and why.

I think I was a man because I’m a huge tomboy. Maybe also a writer. I have this great desire to write, but I’m not very good. I also probably died alone; I’m terrible at relationships and very much enjoy my alone time.

Probably some factory worker.

@the1paula,

A philosopher, a nobleman, a peasant, a wolf, water, somebody whom was executed via firing squad (birthmarks are apparently believed to be indications of past life physical trauma and I have one on my head), a criminal, an explorer.

Also:

Who do you think you were in a past life?

I had a similar thread a while back so you can read more answers to this question haha

Maybe you were around too many people last time? I like my alone time too..

@egarim, Thats an impressive list you have. I hope you tell how you know in that link you posted.

I’m convinced I have wasted at least one of my previous lives rotting away in a corporate setting, because I’ll be DAMNED if I ever allow that to happen to me in this one =)

@the1paula, In really deep meditation once I was feeling super connected but also tense so I asked myself what I was feeling at that moment, immediately images began flashing in my mind of me stabbing people in suits, cutting off limbs, slitting throats, crushing skulls, it was terribly graphic and I was feeling the rage within me, so vivid that it was almost like I knew what it would feel like to break someones skin with a knife, something that I obviously have never experienced but it felt so real and familiar. These images all seemed to be during the same timeline, perhaps early 1900’s so my first thought was that I have been angry at myself my entire life bc I was some murderer in a recent past life..
I also wonder if this was simply a reflection of the anger or tension I was holding onto manifesting as violence like a bad dream, but still it seemed so strange that I was having such vivid flashes all from what seemed to be a specific era, mafia style

My soul is the reincarnated soul of Helios.. I have no other recognition of any other lives on this planet other than coming from source and spreading love to the world. Yes, I am the reincarnated soul of the sun god. I’ve met my Vega..or Aphrodite if you will.. I seriously feel like I’ve been reincarnated back into this physical embodiment for the last time.. I’m here to help raise the masses consciousness above christ consciousness and into ascension. I can’t explain where any of this comes from, other than it is true..

Egarim (363)C (@egarim) 8 years, 9 months ago ago

@the1paula,

Through introspection, much like yourself haha. I just examined my own inclinations and tendencies and concluded on the things on that list.

I’ll explain everything on the list without getting too personal: Philosopher because I was very introspective as a kid and came to many profound conclusions on life and existence that I eventually found to match already established philosophical ideas… so much that reading a quote by say Heraclitus about how “no man ever steps twice into the same river, for he is not the same man, and it is not the same river” I feel like I was reading my own words because I used similar analogies as a kid. A peasant and nobleman because I can deeply empathize for the rich (I understand their ignorance in regards to the poor especially if they did not earn their way from the bottom) and I work hard in terms of manual labor like a peasant (nothing grosses me out and my tolerance for pain is very high). I think like a wolf at times, especially when I was much younger and before I took up all these personal ideologies that have clouded my natural instinct… I own three dogs and I plan to get more in the future when these have parted (dogs and wolves, although very different, connect with me on a different level). A criminal because I was a delinquent as a teenager but I was goddamn good at it… I could think like a good criminal and I was always thinking ahead. I was just too smart for my own good when it came to being a criminal, though I did grow out of that (thankfully). An explorer because I want to travel more than anything else in this life… makes me feel that I spent a lifetime as an explorer before and I’m yearning to return to that life.

And water… this is a deep one for me. I had a dream once, where I was falling from the sky, head first with my feet up in the air (meaning I was completely inverted, feet to the sky, head to the ground) and from my own point of view the world was upside down: above me was the ocean and water and beneath me was the sky… I plunged headfirst into the water and I felt like I was completed at that moment. I feel like I was born from water because I have an affinity for it… but aren’t we all born from water haha

@egarim I think we’ve all got an affinity to water, as we all can relate to air and earth as well as fire ..while people mistake there only being 4 elements of nature.. this is not true.. there are actually 5, and the heart is that 5th element.. once we all can complete that cycle and bring all 5 elements together.. man that will be a beautiful day for the world..

@the1paula, one of the cool things i think about past lives is that we could have infinite past lives from any time or place; even in alternate dimensions. I personally doubt reincarnation too, but its still what i’m hoping for, i’ve read that when you reach enlightenment you then have the ability to choose your next reincarnation. can anyone tell me for sure?

TheSkaFish (962)M (@theskafish) 8 years, 9 months ago ago

@the1paula, I don’t think I had a past life. Playing along with the suggestion that reincarnation is real, I’d say I’m a young soul, that this is my first time around. That would explain why I’m so blown away by all the choices in front of me, and why I feel so inexperienced – because I don’t have past lives to draw from.

@justinr, yes! Damn the Man! No corporate settings for me, either. Last time I was there I almost lost my mind.

Ever since I was a child I’ve had dreams about rice paddies and Asian geography…when I was a bit older, about 10-14 I had an obsession with everything Asian , and no reason as to why. I still find Asian culture and history really interesting and loved studying it in High School. One day my friends were messing with a Ouiji type board called the Psychic Circle. After asking it some questions and getting a feel for it I asked if reincarnation happened. It said yes. It said I’ve lived many lives. It said something about 800. I don’t remember if it was talking about 800 past lives, or the grand total of all my lives adding up to 800 years….Anyway! I asked who/where I was in my most recent past life, (not thinking anything about Asia at all) and It said in the year 300 A.D (or B.C I don’t remember) That I was a Ritual Organizer north-east of India…That blew my mind. I’m stickin with it, it feels right.

I haven’t thought about this myself, but I feel that i there was to be reincarnation, people wouldn’t experience the same things in different lives. Meaning karma. If you were a bitchy, lying money machinator, you might have problems with it in this life as to learn a lesson or pay your ”tax”’.

@rizzle, It sounds like you’ve read ‘the egg’. The infinite past lives or “i am you, you are me” ideas resonate with an understanding of quantum physics and reality as well as dreams.
This idea assumes our present existence is a quantum combination and unique accumulation of the past lives that we we all share, but we remember the most recent as our individualized separation from source.
Woah.

I know this sounds kind of out there… but I SWEAR I was an Egyptian God, or Goddess.

Whichever…I was in a position of power, and responsible for an entire population. I was empathetic, creative, kind, wise..I was quick, and good at outsmarting people. I even feel as if I had some sort of mind power/ability to read people, and their thoughts. And for some reason, I feel like I made a ridiculous number of important decisions based on what I felt, solely through intuitions, which I think were usually right…which made me stand apart from others in control at the time.

Ever since I watched a VHS in Kindergarten on ancient Egypt…i’ve JUST known. I specifically remember the dreams I had about Egypt the days following that film, there were a bunch. One of the strangest was about a special task that needed to be completed, on my behalf, before the spirit of an Egyptian child could join his family in the stars? I know. I know… but think about it, I was 5 years old…what 5 year-old dreams about something that complex? I felt like I was two people in the same body. I even remember trying to tell my parents, but they just dismissed it. That kind of stopped me from wanting to learn more about it I guess.

To this day though…I’m 22, and still get those vibes, I feel like some of those unusual skills I just mentioned, could’ve carried over into this life of mine. I honestly wouldn’t know how to explain it any other way. I have the absolute weirdest experiences.

Surely your past life just plays on how arrogant the person is. Nobody knows what their past life is and I personally see no evidence for past lives being real. I could say I was a world class athlete in my past life who participated in the first ever Olympics in Athens or I could say I was just a humble peasant, it all depends on how arrogant the person is to what he claims to have been previously. See what I am trying to say? A perfect example being the poster above who believes they were an Eygptian Goddess, seriously how likely is that to be true?

Once in hypnosis session, I claimed to be from another planet. Very interesting, however, I believe it’s just the sub-conscious visualizing the sense of “alienation.” Quite humorous.

@scott3600, @heavydreamz, i also, have had more than one person tell me they think they were from Egypt. but that was only after i spoke up and said something. perhaps they were jumping on the bandwagon you know>? or maybe there’s some sort of legitimacy behind it. i don’t know. i just know what my own early experiences tell me.

i’m sure that with nothing else to go by, it would be great to imagine something so neat. but im not imagining if its already engrained in part of my soul you know>? I am skeptical. I would love to roll my eyes when someone tells me they were a God, or some famous historian…it sounds like those people just love to humble brag you know? It does sound arrogant. I can see someone living a somewhat uneventful life elaborating upon some crazy story of a past life…to give their current lives greater meaning in some ways. If you don’t feel like anything special now, just identify with someone who was famous, powerful, or great for the life they lived years ago.

But lets get real here…i was five. I consider myself an educated, grounded, logical thinking adult, and I still feel the same about it now as I did then.

I am just telling you, that my dreams…they get really, really in depth. I remember the place I sat, slept, I remember the sun (as if i could taste it), I remember the people who were in my family, I remember consulting with water…but all of that just confuses me. So I know there’s something more to it.

Here’s a thought though; if reincarnation is happening, and it is possible that multiple souls can live within the same physical body…then every soul that lived before has to go somewhere right? So why couldn’t a normal human being alive today be born as someone with a higher profile from a previous time? Wouldn’t the odds of an every day person being ‘chosen’ to host the soul of a famous person, be just the same as any other type of soul?…whether it be a peasant, a murderer, a small child, a family member?

also, you guys should read up on Mediums being able to identify reincarnated souls in other human beings. A grandmother who had lost one of her daughters at age 2, was told that her deceased daughters soul had been reborn into her new granddaughter. The psychic said that the woman’s 6 year old granddaughter, had a soul soul that was split directly down the middle. Half was her own, and half was comprised of her grandmother’s previous daughters soul. Just some food for thought, it was an amazing reading to watch!

@emil2es, If we are going to assume the existence of past lives, as infinite beings, i am you and you are me, we both have egyptian past lives as we are both every person who has ever lived infinitely in every quantum universe.
Im thinking that egyptian past lives must be more prominent to people maybe because of something to do with the spiritual practices of that era? Who knows, theres alot of people whove claimed to be egyptian goddesses, ive heard people say native american medicine people alot too.. and I used to want to doubt them at first for such a claim but now Im thinking its more that people have an easier time connecting with this perhaps golden era that the infinite spirit tends to remember more as incarnation
