Imaginary lines drawn upon the the idea of Earth divides;
Make-belief differences between races separates;
Illusory doctrines of creation and origin creates conflicts;
It’s a sincere hope of mine that ideologies like these pass.
What do you think separates us as human beings?
Nice question, I think it is the cultural differences that start separating us in the beginning, and a lack of education that makes us to continue separating ourselves after we grow up.
If anything it is lack of knowledge.
It may also be a sub-product of this competition-like culture we have had in almost all the history of human beings (and have today). A culture I am sure we must overcome as quickly as possible.
I would say religion mainly. Religion creates separation and separation creates fear. This is why I don’t like to consider myself as part of any religion. The reason we are alone is because we haven’t united as a species, as a race. Humanity must unite as one love, one heart, forget our differences, forget borders, and ideally, hopefully, evolve into more conscientious beings who are not so obsessed with money and “things” and being greedy and violent, but into more loving and sharing and benevolent creatures. Religions KILL for their cause, saying they are right. We need to stop trying to be right all the time and just be happy yo! Learn to live together, as one, and stop being ignorant and self-centered. Try to LOVE and SERVE humanity and not abuse, exploit, cheat, or hurt others. We are all so insignificant in a relative sense of the universe that it’s ridiculous how more important some people think they are than others. None of use are important at all if you think about it. We are so small and our existence is so temporary. I would say fear, ignorance, hatred, envy, greed, and close-mindedness are our biggest dividers.
Fear builds walls.
@jakefloria, your so right. Fear of what we don’t know or understand is what keeps us apart. Religion is no help, just separates us more from each other with lies. Religion is the number one killer I believe. People use religion as a crutch to fear death less. If everyone would band together and learn that people are different, but the same, the world would finally be a good place.
Belief. We are creatures of pattern. We form our belief system based on a set of patterns that emerge to only our consciousness. Some patterns have been established as ‘normal’ and are fed to us every day. Not everyone agrees on what is normal though, throughout the world, country, city, home, or person. Its another conceptual trap. People need to rise about the conceptual world, and actually start benefiting from our differences.
Thats not what I’m saying at all man! I’m not blaming anyone in particular, I’m just saying theres a better way and that we are all imperfect. You said the problem is “Make-belief differences between races separates; Illusory doctrines of creation and origin creates conflicts;” and that’s pretty much what I was saying. I’m only blaming all of us. It is everyones fault we are alone. And some would argue that we are not as alone as you think. What makes you think we are “alone”? Lonely? That’s different than alone. We are alone compared to a unified, earthly stand point. We are alone compared to how together we should be. Just the vast size of the human population could contribute to out loneliness because it makes even smaller and insignificant and harder to connect with everyone. By the way, what is GLHF?
Is this to be without another single being or is this to be without every single being?
We are never really alone are we? there will always be ourselves. We always have our own consciousness and with that come thought. Being able to think makes us want to learn and reason. After wanting to learn and reason we make stories and theories. now known as fact and religion, we test and blame these differences on one another, splitting into our own tribes and cultures believing in what we want.
Honestly, we aren’t alone. Everyone is just different, and in those differences we separate from one another to find similarities.
The day will come where we all as a human race come together as one, but that day will come only when acceptance, the one thing every human needs, is achieved.
@huntski whoa man yeah real
and @noahcox I get what you are saying. I am tolerant of religion and I don’t mind if people do what they need to do but when you say religion is a crutch i dig it man! I almost wrote like a book called Religion is a Placebo. People use religion to find meaning in their life and to not feel so alone. And I think the reason people think it works so well, is so real, is because they made it feel like that, in their minds, like a placebo. Like, it may not be a bad thing! But it may not be legit. Either way, I just want to spread love. Love is my religion mann
@jakefloria, I made a mistake on my comment up there, when I said ‘problem’. It’s not a problem, they are ideologies; nothing more, nothing less.
A part of me agree’s that religion is a placebo, like you explain. Same goes for nationalism, racism, and our constant need for control.
Why we are so alone is a blanket statement I chose to put over it all, like you said. We are not a unified consciousness, we may be connected to a collective consciousness, but that we are not aware of. We have more connectivity to each other, yet countries get bombed starved, impoverished, and murdered while the assaulting country benefits somehow.
From my perspective, people want for something better but sit afraid of the powers that be.
Yeah man! The system’s hittin’ the gutter in my opinion and in this day and age it’s more okay to follow than to lead because being a leader is being a threat. People are too afraid to question the system or stand up to it or to stand up to major powers because they know it would be a huge struggle and being crushed is very likely. Like for example when China invaded Tibet, it’s pretty messed up and still no one is doing anything about it because China is so important and so powerful. I met the exiled king of Tibet on Saturday and he showed us a short movie on his life. There isn’t much he can do for his people or his land and he is only 17! The best thing the Dali Llama said for him to do is get a good education so he came to the states to go to a private school. He is trying to spread awareness but I really truly think that there is hope for Tibet. I believe that even though China may be very powerful, they are not invincible and yes Tibetan people are very peaceful and Buddhist, but Ghandi led a peaceful revolution through civil disobedience. Many buddhist monks set themselves on fire in protest! I want to help…Im not sure how yet but Tibet should stand up against tyranny and evil and may need help and I want to help, want people to help. I want fearless and brave people who are willing to sacrifice for the greater good. Great change will only come though self-sacrifice, otherwise we would have nothing. Revolution comes through sacrifice. I know it sounds like all talk, but I am young still. I have hope. Subvert the dominant paradigm and get up, stand up for your rights.
@thepinkmyr, What separates us is our ego consciousness. We’ve all been busy being drops of water, and we must become the ocean. Some of us are the drops on the surface and can see it, others on the ocean floor have known it all along, and some of us just need a periscope.
@thepinkmyr, We were born in the middle of time with a whole lot of bullshit stacked upon bullshit and that has created confusion, chaos, hatred, fear, etc. Death is the only way we can all come to one understanding. I doubt we will all come to one understanding in this twisted world of ours, but if it does I’m all towards unity consciousness. There is only two main emotions and that is (categorized) Love and Fear. A lot of people are on the fear side and they don’t know it (consciously blind). It sounds impossible for unity consciousness in the world but then again, nothing is impossible, right?
If nothing is impossible then we can and will have a one understanding in this world of ours. Maybe not in our lifetime but i do feel our generation has become consciously stronger, healthier and we are awakening! So lets rise and understand the true concept of our nature. So i ask you today my lovely human species, are you with me?!?! (throws fist up in the air).
Religion is what brings people together! Religion doesn’t seperate people. It’s people that see the religion is bullshit and seperate themselves.
We need a new kind of religion or a new kind of society.
@winslow Yeah I know that’s the problem. But maybe other people could help them who aren’t so pacifist or maybe China could be influenced or something, i dunno.
@lechuza ohhhhh thanks man!
@ballsackturtles23 nice name dude haha but I think religion works both ways. It’s just hard to have it because there are so many different kinds trying to be “right” and conflict with each other. It’s not the non-religious people fighting religions. Non-religious people usually just let them do their thing and don’t care. I’m non-religious but I’m not against the idea of a new religion that everyone could accept, which, realistically, isn’t likely. I don’t exactly think we need religion per se, but just an ethical system based on morality, love, kindness, and intelligence. You know, just don’t hurt others, be smart, make your valuable life meaningful in itself. If people do look to religion to find meaning, people also find meaning in secular humanism lifestyles. Renaissance and reformation started these changes and people looked to the importance of the individual. So maybe a new religion, maybe a new society, maybe a new system, we can dream and hope and try. We just need to get our act together, that’s all! People just need to remind themselves of what’s actually important in life!
We are so alone because that’s the nature of our perception. I live my life, experiencing what I experience. Everything that I am and experience is based on the accumulated knowledge in my head. What I think of others is based on that, and how I interact with everything is. I am me, and noone else knows what that is like. Sure, we’re all pretty similar biological machines with awareness- we form similar reactions to our environmental- that’s kind of unifying. But when it comes down to the end of the day and I’m laying in bed, all there really is, is me. And for you, it’s the same thing. We’ve formed ourselves into unified societies over time- it was pretty advantageous for us to work together. Being the ignorant monkeys we are, we’ve come up with things like etiquette and religion. And because we all grew from isolated groups, these “norms” were different. We’ve grown into each other… we’ve dealt with so much conflict because of it. These differences in the average human are shrinking though. I think tolerance and acceptance are becoming more widespread. It just takes the passage of generations to realize the faults of the previous.
@jakefloria, Could be done quite easily. Load everyone on this planet at the same time with LSD or mushrooms or something like that, and make them all watch the same youtube video. Everyone would be brainwashed, and thats how the revolution would have to take place.
We could all truly be one! Evil/good whatever… at least we’d all be on the same page. Wars would stop. Invisible lines on the map wouldn’t be a reason to kill someone, as we’d all be one tribe.
Then again, if in the wrong hands it could be worse than it is now.
@lechuza, Yes :P
@ballsackturtles23, What kind of religion do you suggest? From my knowledge religion is the worship of a supernatural being. Religion brings people together, religions(plural) separates. We do not NEED religion, we NEED to live responsible lives.
…I’m not even going to get into brainwashing. If you think doing what has already been done to people in order to start a revolution, thats like going to war to end war.
@secter7, I like that. Made some valid points.
@jakefloria, As much as we would like to see it, there isnt any standing up to China. Their ground force is gigantic.. If we tried any type of uprising in that country we would either be killed or put in a room until we die. Its all about absolute power over there.
hey guys, r u really so alone?
may it be the matter of your perceiption? I persinally think we r not alone,cause we can find people with the same values and views, which lead to mutual understanding and support… friendship based on spiritual aspects is long-lived. ( that`s my perceiption)
