Why can't we evolve?

We all know how to live. We know what makes us happy.
We as the human race, are instinctively pulled together. Closer we bring each other, yet farther we push others. For lust we gather materials and objects of distractions. No matter the risks we gather them, we are like bees drawing to honey. Just like the bees, are we too, drawn to our “honey”? The double-bladed lust we gather, drives us from being what we want to me, all for what? For the ability to enslave others, to trap their minds in such a big illusion that it can begin to fool themselves.
So my question is, why can’t we evolve and gather back that motive to do what we want?
Have we been trapped so long, that we can fully understand we are doing the things we don’t want to, but will continue to do it anyways? The trap of money, power, and greed has stopped us from taking that trip, or seeing that concert, or whatever it is that you have missed. We take jobs we don’t want to buy shit we don’t need, to impress people we don’t like. But this is the norm, we are raised to believe Argumentum ab auctoritate, a latin phrase meaning the fallacy of authority. By being a figure of high power, one can tell a you anything one would want, and you will believe whatever it is that was said. And those sets of lies has woven into what we call “the norm”. This way of living is then introduced to new generation and cultured by the old.
This has caused the social acceptance of conform, and that is a big part of why we cannot evolve. With being taught conformity as soon as possible in school, media, and authoritative environments, we cannot do the opposite of the norm.
Some of us can though, the people we idolize. The people who find a passion in what they want to do and stick with it. They are happy doing it and get better quickly. The normal people look at this evolved being and treats it like a new species, observing everything they do as if it was completely unknown to us. Why can we not all be like that? We could all follow our dreams together and build the world through love, rather than greed. Or could we be already on our way there, and we are just the slow ones? Just…why can’t we?

Soooo, we are constantly evolving. Everything in our environment changes our DNA everyday, from the food we eat, to the actions we make, to the words we say. I wouldn’t be surprised if that why we form habits.
Conformity is not taught in school/ media/ etc. Self hatred, disrespect and the need to spend money is…. but as for conformity, we are born with it already built into us.
In the past conformity was helpful for our species- if one person spots a predator behind some rocks, stares at it for a second, conformity tells others in the group to do the same and then everyone sees the predator and the group can defend itself. However, we have obviously outgrown the need for these tactics.
Which is why it’s nice that the mind can control the body because now that you’ve realized you can do anything once you put your mind to it, you can find a passion in what you do and stick with it. And, since we as a species like to mimic each other, once you start putting off this energy of passion, others will follow and do the same until our whole species is on the same level.
:) Congratulations you are reforming the “norm”. (:
