@kazi, “Since when has masturbation been equivalent to handling a burning hot stove?”
Never. But it doesn’t have to be. My point is why should I do something that I know will make me feel bad, that has proven itself to be true consistently? That wouldn’t be smart.

“And forget about masturbation itself, how about the releasing of sperm? This happens when you have sex (quiet obvious) so by your logic having sex is bad because your body needs more nutrients to create more sperm.”

Not true. Look up semen retention.

“Your positioning on this topic is wholeheartedly based on your own personal experiences and subjective viewpoints on masturbation. I don’t think you are considering any opposing or objective stand points. Therefore i don’t think you have much to contribute to this discussion.”

And yours is not? You don’t seem too willing to consider my opposing viewpoint, yourself. And that last bit, that was a total high-horse thing to say and was completely unnecessary.

@zhaetur, it’s funny, but i read the same article when i wrote the post you responded to (making sure i had my shit straight). the beginning part can be misleading, as it later states:

“So it’s not masturbation itself that’s increasing prostate cancer risk in young men. More masturbation may just mean more sex drive — and more androgens bathing prostate tissues.”

ejaculating regularly does decrease the risk of prostate cancer, though men with higher sex drives have an increased risk.

for me, the other points were more side benefits to masturbation, so i won’t go into that except to say that any religion or philosophy has points which are demonstrably wrong, even when they fit within a system which is mostly beneficial. [or maybe they are not wrong, precisely, but perhaps in conflict with the physical?? i dunno.] and there is nothing wrong with kegel excercises, but it’s not like they and ‘batin are mutually exclusive.

also, i know there can be too much of a good thing ;)

About a month ago, I went thru a heavy masturbation period. I started to deeply question it because afer years of doing it, I came to realize that excessive masturbation got me feeling lazy, unmotivated and brought negative feelings. So, I started to research male sperm and how nutrient rich it is. Its very rich in nutrients!! For example, everytime u ejaculate, that is 15mg of Zinc out of ur body. We need Zinc. Zinc help utilize proteins. Also, excessive ejaculation can lead to hair loss in some people due to increase of DHT ( dihydrogentestoserone) a protein that block hair follicles. I myself have lost alot of hair.
So, after that heavy period of masturbation. I decided to experiment on not masturbating for a week. Believe me it was hard but I managed to do it. At the end of that week, I noticed I was more motivated and alert. Also I noticed my hair had more life to it, it was shinier. It wasnt lifeless and flat. After all noticing these changes, I decided to jack off as a reward lol. Today, I dont masturbate as much anymore. Before it was daily because I was convinced that I have too and it was healthy. But no. So I would recommend you guys to try it.
Lastly, All those women out there swallowing sperm…I no loner think its disgusting. Its very healthy!! Of course that male has to be healthy and disease free lol. Worker bees feed sperm ( Royal Jelly) to queen bees all the time. The queen bees live up to 5 years while the worker bee lives up to 40 days. Go figure

I don’t masturbate. I used to. I considered it a sexual release but I found that it perverts the mind if used with sexual thought. So I stopped. I can’t remember how long ago.

@aestheticbrah, right on! I was thinking of writing about this here the other day as well, so here’s my cheers to HighExistence synchronicity, cosmic slop:

When I was a young teenager, I thought of masturbation as a precursor for sex, as if it was a less-good type of intimacy. It was a way of exploring my body and the meditative side of arousal, tantra, and self-control. Yet, I almost always had a deflating feeling of shame and disappointment after orgasm, as if I was looking for something in that moment which I couldn’t get on my own.

Yet without anyone to explore with, I continued to masturbate, and the repeated experience of individual orgasm led me to develop an individual sexual narrative. I associated arousal with all of these sensual memories where I was on my own. As a result, any sexual stimulation became subconsciously related to the feeling of masturbating, where I was on my own working towards an orgasm.

It was years before I realised the associations that I was making. It took a number of unsatisfying and confidence-shattering experiences before I realised that I was thinking about things the wrong way. Years of watching porn while masturbating had conditioned my mind into an individual trip which was devastatingly isolating. During sex, I would become disconnected from my partner and have a lonely orgasm, or else leave them feeling vulnerable, violated or neglected.

I had to return to self-control and meditation techniques to focus my mind on the shared experience I am looking for. I want my intimate experiences to be about a common creation and shared space, a soul-dance involving not just forward sexual energy but also the reverse spinal coil that some people have called Kundalini. My mind still sometimes wanders during sex but now I stop it and bring my focus back to building an ecstatic, satisfying, nurturing, and supportive intimate space.

I imagine how it would be to never have masturbated and instead been able to explore my sexual self with another person or other people. Perhaps sex is like playing a musical instrument—If you practice on your own, you’re just practicing to do it on your own. To learn how to do it with others, we have to practice with others.

I think that if our people can become more comfortable with the idea of well-meaning sexual exploration, feelings of isolation, dissatisfaction and violation might be avoided. This involves having a scrupulously open mind and heart to respect and support others’ feelings. For myself, this approach would have avoided a lot of hurt and isolation. But my style is to learn things the hard way.

In short, I think masturbation is like smoking cigarettes. It feels like an achievement, but leaves us feeling lonely in our experience. Shared experience, be it trauma or joy, is the essence of human connection, and this, together with a nurturing eye for la Madre Tierra, is the essence of life itself.

In the admiration and inspiration of open heart-sharing!

Because no matter how much men try, they can never achieve the power, excitement and satisfaction that a woman’s orgasm can provide.  If men could experience orgasm like women, this country would be a vast wasteland because no one would leave their home!

No matter how many times the question is asked, there is only one answer:  it feels good.

Who wants to set up a sexual alchemy/semen retention support group? Holding each other accountable and giving tips on a regular basis, etc.
