Why the fuck not?
If heaven, the after life, being free energy, a star in space, the after life, whatever the hell you want to call it, is such a great place or where we are going to end up anyways. Then why dont we just get there now and quit putting off the inevitable?
I mean hell you could pull the trigger and end up in a place better than disneyland! But know one knows, only dead people. So my question for you is……
Why the fuck not?
ha cause fear man if people are that zealous in achieving the divine through self sacrifice by all means i guess but curiosity in the unknown is so enticing to be honest i would hate to know everything especially the afterlife. i go by faith half ancestral and the other by my own personal reasoning. fear regulates and rationalizes living that is how we learn fire is hot and fire can fucking kill you. we need to live to learn to improve and eventually die with a fulfilled and accomplished smile on our face. live long and prosper. peace
@josephm, alright, can you elaborate a little more on that?
@brennan-avans, Well of course fear. But isnt fear something that we use to associate with other things. When you are first born you are a blank slate something has to happen for you to associate that fear with that something if it makes you fearful.
i dont think we are so much as “blank” but i understand what your suggesting. i think fear is are most powerfully driven emotion and just because you have fear dose not make you fearful. it is how we confront those fears that we can build from them. fear of dying fear of living both coexist i believe and so forth as human beings we need to search out reasons for each of those fears that is why we have to live to obtain and confront our fears physical, mentally, and physically. @jpongo6,
Fact: We are alive now. Breathing.
Fact: We will die. Stop breathing.
It is in your power and right to end YOUR life, but why not wait? Awesome things could happen. Terrible things could happen. Who knows? Don’t you want to find out?
@brennan-avans, yes I see what your saying but somehwere along the line you had to associate that fear with death. Think of it like someone who is afraid of dogs. Something had to happen to that person that dealt with a dog for them to associate fear with it. Or like most cases in todays world that someone was told to fear it. But you have to experience it before you can go and give it an association so why not lol it sounds ridiculous but when you think about it it makes sense its just peecieved a really really crazy in todays world.
@jpongo6 The only conclusion I have ever been able to reach in this thought chain is:
Suicide would surely give you a worse life.
Like if not just the same one repeated, just obviously, without you knowing.
Plus, if you have ever died before, or at least a NDE, you’d know the void gets boring in fucking 30 minutes, let alone waiting another infinity for a new life.
You’re alive at this moment, able to experience and learn some new things, just smile and make the most of it.
@jpongo6, If i were to take my own life who is to say that after it is too late i will realize i was not ready or there were still things i needed to do or wanted to do. There may be an afterlife but all i know is this is the time i am guaranteed so no matter how hard or meaningless my life may seem i am going to try and make the most of every moment. That is my reasoning, my fear of nothingness, and my appreciation of what i have.
@lexovix, Let’s elaborate.
“Suicide would surely give you a worse life.” Who is it say death is worse than life?
A NDE is near, not whole. No opinion or preconceived notion can make certain that death is boring or a transitional phase to something ‘greater’ or a new life. Subjectively, this topic will live forever, but we won’t. So yes, ‘just smile and make the most of it.’
@jpongo6, back to the zealous believer if you trust unto what you believe then what josephm said to each his own but ignorance in the afterlife is true bliss. don’t think you have all the answers just yet man cause this world has much in-stored the afterlife will come when it deems necessary.
@brennan-avans, im not saying I have all the answers man otherwise I wouldnt be on HE and its not that I disagree with what you are saying or agree. I just like to question everything and see the thought processes of other people and learn from that to develope my consciousness more. As you can see everyones answer so far has been different so yes as @josephm, said… to each his own
I think I can debate you on that point, or at the very least, love to hear your counter. :-p
“Who is it say death is worse than life?”
If death was argued to be better, why would we come back to life to begin with?
Just going to get stuck in a paradox taking the death preference, surely?
@jpongo6, iam sorry if i was too directive with that last comment i wasn’t generalizing you in that per-say i was trying to understand what you are aiming for. i do like your motive dude question everything man individuality is the greatest freedom cant be held down by anyone. this has turned into a great question and has provoked within us all. take from all of it what you will man. live long and prosper my friend.
The universe is much more complex than a twofold model of Heaven and Earth. Throughout our various incarnations we “level up” when we have gained a level of understanding that resonates with that higher level. The universe is an exercise in creativity, and suicide is a destructive act, and thus will set you back in your development because you are out of sync with the fundamental essence of life.
5gs of shrooms helped me understand why I came to Earth.. perhaps give that a shot ;-j
@benjaminjames, I do like this statement. To me it makes a lot of sense and though I have heard of a similar reasoning this one sticks out to me. As for the shrooms I have never done so. I have done marijuana and have looked into other natural options such as shrooms and dmt. But its like what the other guy and I were talking about earlier. The association of drugs growing up I was told drugs are bad. Now even though im older and I question that statement and know that they are not in fact bad. It still lingers in my brain and the possibility of a bad experience turns me away from wanting to experience those things.
