Why women feel so inferior?

Prittii (@prittii) 9 years, 4 months ago

One of the last posts in HE is about feminism and how society sees women as inferior, bla, bla, bla!

I love this website, but I didn’t like this post! I think the idea was to promote feminism and show how women is still discriminated, but, in my opinion, it’s totally unbalanced and actually helps out a lot for some women getting even worse self-esteem than they already have!

So I’m making this post that we can point the ADVANTAGES women have over men… Which are lots! And there is no reason to feel inferior!

Of course if you get into the mechanical engineer university, as a woman you might be victim of some prejudice, but that is as much as a man suffers when he wants to be a nurse!

Here is the point: If you want as a woman (for some crazy reason!) get into “men” world, of course it will be a challenge… and if you are intelligent, I’m sure you’ll master it! I just prefer keeping myself in the fabulous women’s world, where everything is about making life enjoyable, fun and beautiful… and not about getting the nobel prize.

Here it is 10 reasons why being a woman is great:

1. A ship is sinking, who gets in the safety boat? “- Women and children first!”

2. You can wear whatever you want! You can cut your hair short and wear a jeans and everybody will think you are modern… Try a guy wearing a pink t-shirt and long hair: then everybody thinks he is homosexual.

3. Any time you want sex, you just need to announce it! There is always going to be some guy up for it! Not the same situation with guys.

4. Women by birth already have an important function in the society: procreation. Even if you don’t use it, it’s there! But men must find an importance in the society by certain age, otherwise he starts being pushed aside, or even eliminated (military service… wars…).

5. Women are beautiful! Even for other women… We are nice to be looked at! (Men magazine cover = woman; women magazine cover = woman)

6. Women are pleasant by nature! Entertainers, sociable and care takers. Not a surprise so many women like studying sociology, marketing, cinema, pedagogy, psychology…

7. The societies with biggest amount of women in the government are also the most developed societies, because things go better when women are in charge.

8. It’s much easier for women to be accepted by the society as homosexual than for men.

9. Women can dance, cry, scream of fear… and we are not judged for that! Men do the same and get lots of judgement.

10. Women can get multiple orgasms!

So, as we see, men don’t get easy as you thought! So from now on, please women, get rid of this low self-esteem and this wish of being like a man… enjoy being a woman! It’s a blessing and not a burden!

@prittii,

1. A ship is sinking, who gets in the safety boat? “- Women and children first!”

yeah, but how much of that is due to repetitive cliche’s thrown around in movies, television and politics? I might save the person of most emotional value to me, be it a man or a women.

2. You can wear whatever you want! You can cut your hair short and wear a jeans and everybody will think you are modern… Try a guy wearing a pink t-shirt and long hair: then everybody thinks he is homosexual.

i suppose, but then most guys don’t ever bother sharpening their attire because having clothes that are comfortable allows for more versatility. its men that end up doing most of the rigorous manly jobs. at best, a real man is concerned with fit and color.

also, how much physical comfort is lost for women who get all dressed up in high heals and tight jeans?

3. Any time you want sex, you just need to announce it! There is always going to be some guy up for it! Not the same situation with guys.

same for guys actually. only difference is that if we want to get laid on command with women, we have to settle for the ugly ones.

4. Women by birth already have an important function in the society: procreation. Even if you don’t use it, it’s there! But men must find an importance in the society by certain age, otherwise he starts being pushed aside, or even eliminated (military service… wars…).

if he’s dumb enough to join the military in the first place. i suppose you score a point (well, many points) with procreation, yet i do not envy having to go through pregnancy and labor.

5. Women are beautiful! Even for other women… We are nice to be looked at! (Men magazine cover = woman; women magazine cover = woman)

yeah, anorexic women. that is not beauty. though i agree with you 100% – women are phenomenally attractive.

6. Women are pleasant by nature! Entertainers, sociable and care takers. Not a surprise so many women like studying sociology, marketing, cinema, pedagogy, psychology…

erm, i don’t think so. women, in their own way, can be even more vicious and petty than men, but they are usually excused and feared when they get angry. men are hated, pitied or punished when they get unpleasant. give and take i guess.

7. The societies with biggest amount of women in the government are also the most developed societies, because things go better when women are in charge.

by developed, what do you mean? some of the most terrible tyrants the world has ever seen have been women.

8. It’s much easier for women to be accepted by the society as homosexual than for men.

true, refer to #5.

9. Women can dance, cry, scream of fear… and we are not judged for that! Men do the same and get lots of judgement.

true, refer to my answer to #6.

10. Women can get multiple orgasms!

yes, but i always like to bring up the volcano analogy. a man will bust out one orgasm as if mt. st. helens had just erupted – its intense and catalyzing, whereas a women is like a stream of waves crashing on the shore. different orgasms, different patterns. which is better, i don’t know.

@prittii, I’ve never been a man so I can’t say how I’m better. I just value humans.

I think you’re misinterpreting the feminist movement. You said women should not feel inferior, but in a way pity men because they don’t have as many “advantages” as women… well what if we don’t want those advantages. Also, you failed to acknowledge the idea that culture supports the concept that women are sexually victimized extremely often, not just by being raped but by being harassed and made fun of because of reasons of sex or her sexual taste, history, etc. but that is only a generalization of the issue at hand… it’s so much larger than just that.

1. “A ship is sinking, who gets in the safety boat? “- Women and children first!””

I understand that this is your way of showing women that they have the upper hand and should feel good about this, but the question is then where does that leave men and the value of life that they hold. In this situation, obviously women have the inherent strength in child rearing because they’re both naturally instinctive and also socially conditioned to be more accustomed to care for children (I repeat, socially conditioned). However, in society we are not faced on a daily basis with life or death situations. The distinction between genders should not affect who gets the upper hand and who doesn’t, who deserves to live and who doesn’t.

2. You can wear whatever you want! You can cut your hair short and wear a jeans and everybody will think you are modern… Try a guy wearing a pink t-shirt and long hair: then everybody thinks he is homosexual.

How about if a man wears a dress in public? How about if a woman appears to be a man because she dresses so convincingly as such? Both of those examples often receive bad looks and judgement from a whole lot of people, ask them for yourself. Feminism fights for individuals rights to make decisions regarding their appearance, regardless of what gender it is associated with, and it fights for this so that way these individuals do not have to be judged unfairly because of societies established unfair prejudices and fear of those who escape norms.

3. Any time you want sex, you just need to announce it! There is always going to be some guy up for it! Not the same situation with guys.

I’m not even sure what to say about this. I feel like you’re commodifying sex, making it out to be this product to sell and obtain. but I do acknowledge that sex really is a huge part of life. I mean, what kind of sex you prefer can really shape your life. But here you’re definitely assuming that all women can get sex whenever they want, but why is that? The concept of “rape culture” allows men to be sex driven and weak beings, and their perverted actions and excessive drives are accepted by society (I mean come on it’s much more acceptable for a man to be sexually crazed and openly perverted than it is a woman, especially when they harass other people). It’s a concept that’s really hard for a lot of people to grasp but a woman’s sexuality is often overshadowed by a mans sexuality and his is seen as more acceptable, even when he acts on it much to forcefully. Woman can get it so easy because men are used to the association of a female with sex and so don’t usually think twice, where in a culture full of perverted men I’m sure women are more afraid of them and also these men are not hard to overlook. Also… not all women want sex from a man and not all men want sex from a woman…

4. Women by birth already have an important function in the society: procreation. Even if you don’t use it, it’s there! But men must find an importance in the society by certain age, otherwise he starts being pushed aside, or even eliminated (military service… wars…).

What if a woman cannot or chooses not to procreate? Does that make her less valuable as a woman? Women cannot procreate without a man and vice versa, and so the importance that a man is raised to think he holds is always to be dominant. So if a woman does not procreate is she pushed aside too, just as a man who does not display dominance get “pushed a side”? not usually because what men are supposed to value is not usually procreation… but sex. Women are made out to be the food for men’s perversions… and why should they be? Why should society allow or encourage men to be perverted in the first place?

5. Women are beautiful! Even for other women… We are nice to be looked at! (Men magazine cover = woman; women magazine cover = woman)

this, this is true. whether a man has too much shame to admit it or not though… he is very capable of admiring another mans physique

6. Women are pleasant by nature! Entertainers, sociable and care takers. Not a surprise so many women like studying sociology, marketing, cinema, pedagogy, psychology…

This is a ridiculous generalization. Not all women are pleasant or rambunctiously social like you say. Women can be those things, and men can be those things… but what feminism fights against is the generalization that all women should have to live up to standards that say all women (or men) should be any certain way… if a woman is not sociable or pleasant, that should not make her any less of a woman, that should make her an individual with characteristics that are all her own.

7. The societies with biggest amount of women in the government are also the most developed societies, because things go better when women are in charge.

Do you have the statistics and history to prove this statement that women make everything better? It’s mostly developed societies that have more women in power, because they recognize and accept (or at least pretend that they think) that women are as capable as men and should be treated equally. We should have a fair say in government, we are pretty much half of the world. The gender roles established in those under developed societies, they are those that limit the women to their own “respective spheres” that generally preside in the home as the caretaker of children and property of men… so if these are under developed societies that accept gender roles why should we too accept gender roles of “feminine” and “masculine” that limit individuals in developed societies

8. It’s much easier for women to be accepted by the society as homosexual than for men.

9. Women can dance, cry, scream of fear… and we are not judged for that! Men do the same and get lots of judgement.

10. Women can get multiple orgasms!

All of these things are great but what you’re failing to grasp through out these points is that women are obviously not equal to men, feminism isn’t about only feeling like we’re inferior as a gender, it’s about gaining EQUALITY and have as much a right to be what we truly are as men are and vice versa… and feminists fight to empower other women to recognize that they have the power to be individuals instead of feeble creatures that need men, or otherwise be insecure because society is always setting up expectations for them that are unfair. same goes for men too though, but if women are equal to men… then men obviously deserve the same rights to be free from standardized gender roles and unfair expectations. Women want equality and to be valued as individuals, not placed on a pedestal and praised only for their beauty or their vagina.

@prittii,

I loved this post! I think that men and women are different in some ways. I also believe that the world has shaped it self for a man, but this has changed DRAMATICALLY in the last 30 years.

I also want to bring your attention that a lot of men feel inferior. Men simply find another reason to justify their inferiority such as intelligence, or color or anything just to rationalize their irrational thought.

Unproductive post. Doesn’t seek to equalize.

Yeah, and saying that about women will just make them prove to you that they are not inferior.
