“The eyes’s through which I see God are the same eye’s through which God sees me; my eye’s and God’s eye’s are one. One seeing, one knowing, one love.”
– Meister Eckhart-
I have been working on a project for one of my journalism class’s lately which requires me to use images and audio together. While conducting my interview I realized that nothing fit the interviewees story as well as images of the human eye. Why? Because eyes truly are the window into a person’s soul. They tell a story with out speaking and show us, in my opinion, that there is so much more to life, on and beyond this earth, than we could ever realize. They are intricate and every single one unique. No one eye is the same, like no one person is the same. My faith tells me that God lives within, if this is true than God sees into, and out of, the same eyes as we do. The creator is infinitely large, yet small enough to dwell in each soul of his creation…
Eyes. So much more than they appear.
There is an energy that lives in all of us and every single thing that connects us and i can tell that you can see it clearly and have no problem calling it god. I can’t agree with you enough that there is no easier way to understand any living thing by looking into its eyes. It has been said that without eyes we would all truly be blind. And although you might laugh at such an obvious statement if you really think about it I believe its actually quite profound. Without eyes, ours and every other, we would never be able to fully experience the world around us. Our eyes show who we truly are and with them we can look into others and clearly see fear, joy, misery, compassion and love. You can look into a man or woman’s eyes and see their world and you can look into an animals eyes and feel it looking back into you. Our eyes reveal more about us than any other thing.
