I came across this article and it is beautiful – when you read something and it just hits home.
It had the same effect on me too. That feeling of separation from body and mind during meditation, the state of just being, he described pretty accurately. And I like what he had to say in regards to how we react to our thoughts and emotions – “Once we realize that we are the ones choosing, we can no longer blame our circumstances or others for making us think or feel a certain way. Once we see that our perceptions and the meanings we give to life’s circumstances shape our experience, it is up to us to be selective about which thoughts and emotions we are going to believe and buy into, even amidst great challenges.”
This is an amazing article. I have just started to try and explore my mind and thoughts and have been “a slave to my rampant thoughts for years.” It is relieving and refreshing to know that there is a way to stop and control it. Thank you for sharing!
