Your FAVORITE place on the planet

What is your favorite place on this earth? It could be a city, town, river, forest, bar, grocery store.. Anywhere! We have such a diverse community of cool people who have seen so many amazing pieces of the earth. I want to add places to my travel list. Why do you love this place? What’s so great about it? Feel free to provide multiple spots!

I’ll start. My favorite place thus far on my journey through life is at the top of a mountain in the southern Adirondacks in upstate New York, USA. The mountain is referred to as Good Luck Cliffs, as it overlooks Good Luck Lake. It’s a short day hike, not even a few hours to the top. The view is amazing and no one else ever seems to be there when I am. I’ve seen more beautiful views and hiked far more challenging trails, but this place will always be my “own.” I’ve made tons of important decisions just hanging out alone looking out into the treetops. My dog knows the trail like the back of her hand, and races up the mountain hardly even looking back to make sure I’m behind her. Simply put, I find true peace here. My head is clear. If anyone is ever in upstate NY and wants to check it out, I’d be more than happy to share.

I’m excited to hear about your favorite places.

The first time I went was also my first time on a plane. I have never actually landed in one, haha. The reason this is my favorite thing is because for months after my first jump, if I was feeling down that day I simply had to think “I jumped out of a damn plane” and I was smiling from ear to ear. Its something that few people do, and your confidence in yourself skyrockets afterwards. I think everyone should go skydiving just to experience the biggest natural euphoria you’ll ever feel!

Half of that got cut off… What I meant to say:

My favorite place on earth isn’t actually ON earth, its 12,000 feet off the ground with nothing but a parachute and enough adrenaline to kickstart a cadaver’s heart.

Sorry to burst your bubble but i’m not French haha. Like, in France it’s legal to marry a dead person as long as you were engaged to them before they died. Like damn xD

Found a place full of charm.
Magic world in my baby’s arms.
A soft embrace like satin and lace.
A wondrous place.

The summit of Kebnekajse, under the midnight sun. Looking out over the fantastic landscapes, shaped by ice and time.
A wonderful place.

Man the Adirondacks are GORGEOUS. I spent a weekend in Lake Placid last summer and fell in love. I will be spending more time there in the future.

There are a ton of places on this planet I’m completely in love with. The first one that comes to mind is a nice, quiet spot on a river about 45 mins from me (I’m in Connecticut), where the forest meets an open field, and at the end of the field is a flowing little stream deep enough in one spot where I can submerge myself. There’s nothing better than drinking beers in the summer heat, going in and out of the water, hanging with friends and my dogs. It’s heaven.

My favorite place thus far is, Garmisch Germany!! I will never forget the emerald green grassy mountains, the caves that you travel in to get to this amazing river, the endless waterfalls you encounter on your hike. Then when you think you can’t comprehend another beautiful thing you see this crystal clear lake. You can play all day in it. Then when it is all said and done they have amazing bed and breakfasts or hostels if you are on a budget.

Every morning you wake up to the smell of yummy breakfast foods and look out your window and see dear and ducks. It was by far the most at piece and enlightening place I have been.

Awesome – I will be traveling through Germany this fall, and I’m going to try to stop here. Your description is amazing. Let me know if you have any more tips for this area

Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs. Hiking up was awesome, although my stamina was severely lacking at the time. I could almost touch some low hanging clouds. The air was just the right amount of coolness, and I could see plenty of the Colorado landscape. Its been a few years since that trip, but I plan on returning.

Jeri in Brazil – a small coastal village completely with its own rhythm. Untouced beaches and great food and vibes, time simply stops there. And it is said to have one of the most amazing sunsets in the world. I can’t claim that I have seen ’em all, but it’s pretty amazing. Here’s a pic I took:
