@rattailbaby, (in America at least) you can combat this by being aware and adjusting your lifestyle/diet accordingly. I am currently attempting a gluten free diet for example (I’ve been told people feel excellent after a few months)

=)

But yea the whole concept is totally f*cked I agree (daily multivitamins have recently been proven to do NOTHING but potentially cause cancer for example)

@rattailbaby, Are you sure the fluoride is causing the drop in IQ, I think it’s more likely due to commercials like that (Really the TV shows, but also commercials) along with many other things. I thought the fluoride just made us more passive and harder to connect with our spiritual side, I really wish there was more research into the effects of fluoride though.

@justinr, damn, I’ve heard that multivitamins are bullshit, but can they really cause cancer?
I guess I shouldnt be too surprised…. I mean, what doesn’t cause cancer in america these days?

@rattailbaby, I’ve noticed a surge in energy and brainpower since I quit both masturbation/pornography use, and marijuana use.

@rattailbaby, Sorry for my ignorance, just did a search for fluoride lowers IQ. First link is a Harvard study saying it lowers IQ, then goes on to say “over 100 studies have found that fluoride exposure can damage the brain”

@rattailbaby, Buy a water filter if you haven’t already! Where I live has the best water in all of Canada and the FHA is trying to chlorinate it right now, such bullshit.

@rattailbaby, Yup there is a lot of business to be made from sickness in society but its more about how they make us sick so that we waste our limited recourses buying crap to try and make us feel better. Its all part of the slave system we grew up into that our parents were oblivious to. It makes me so sick to think about the food in the grocery store that people are feeding their kids clueless to the fact that the ‘natural flavors’ on the ‘ingredients label’ is including just about every toxic additive that fucks the immune-system, nervous system, mind, etc.

@justinr, Gluten free diet apparently allows your body to absorb a TON more nutrients from everything you eat which sounds awesome. Something about the gluten ‘protein’ not being digestible, starving the body of nutrients, minerals and water.

BTW The studies that say multi-vitamins are useless are based on commercial generic vitamins and the same studies are then brought up to discredit smaller health-food stores who supply products of real value. Multi-vitamins that are synthetically produced from petroleum are dangerous while the body rejects them without absorbing anything useful. This is most supplements you would find at a GNC or any CVS, Walgreens, etc.. capitalism, its not profitable to mass produce what our bodies really need.. raw unprocessed energy. Any supplement that is made of real food or at least organic material is beneficial. This is often way more expensive than it would be to buy raw vegetables, for example, but can be convenient.

@tlrlittle, Your fine man haha yeah just a bit of information, the use of fluoride in America was adopted by Nazi Germany. They made the Jews in camps drink it because it made them more docile and easily controlled. Also aluminum in deoterant is horrible for your pineal as well. I suggest getting fluoride and aluminum free everything.
@theskafish, and yeah pornography is one of the worst things for your brain. Idk about marijuana though. I thought that usually expands your brain. Random question tho did weed bring out more negative self defeating thoughts? Or is that just me? lol

@justinr, @taysand, This is the second time I’ve heard someone say that studies show multivitamins cause cancer. I searched exactly that, while their is a lot on how multi-vitamins don’t reduce the risk for cancer as claimed, I can’t find one solid conclusive study saying that they cause cancer. The closest I’ve found is that taking excessive amounts could potentially cause cancer, and that taking vitamin E supplements could cause cancer and that there is no reason for most of us to be taking that much vitamin E. One study in Sweden showed a significant increase of cancer in women, but goes on to say the study was not done in a way that would separate cause and effect. So I wouldn’t throw out multivitamins yet, although it would probably make more sense to just take them once a week. Those nutrients and minerals are good for you if you take them in a way that your body can absorb them

@splashartist, Protest that shit! You have a voice man! Im going around my small ass town and doing graffiti and posting flyers and shit about raising the awarness of how where getting f*kd by our own gov. and i actually see progress. Get out there!
@motorik, its in the background and i heard the term *breaking news!* lol
@heavydreamz, Thanks for the info, ill defiantly put that knowledge to good use.

@tlrlittle, yeah that’d make a lot more sense. And here I was, just a few months ago, buying a big ass bottle of vitamin E -_- but shortly afterwards I read about them being completely unnecessary so all is well over here!

but this makes me think… I’ve recently gotten the suggestion to take “barin supplements” like DMAE, Huperzine A, and L-Tyrosine. Basically they are for mental alertness type effects by supporting the growth of our neurons… or something like that, I forgot the exact descriptions. Are those types of supplements legit AND/OR safe?? and aside from that are they even worth it I wonder?

[Hidden]
ELizard (229) (@heavydreamz) 8 years, 9 months ago ago

@taysand, I wonder the same thing, I hear that 5-htp is extracted from organic material, this is possible for tyrosine, they are pre-cursers found in our food but its usually cheaper for it to be made in a lab. I always assume that the majority of these things are synthetic therefore potentially dangerous. The rule of thumb ive heard is don’t buy it if the label doesnt tell you what food the substance was extracted from. Its always a better option to invest more money in the product that is transparent about its production practices but this is ALSO marketing, its all McDonald’s as Gaffigan would say.

@rattailbaby, thats awesome! Yes we have a petition and there was a meeting held and our mayor is against it as well so hopefully we win the battle!

@heavydreamz, Exactly! It all sounds promising, but at the same time it all smells a bit fishy… haha. It just sucks when pretty much every single marketed product in this country has a hint of sketchy to it.

@taysand, I don’t know if you’ve heard of onnit it’s a company that makes a pill called alpha brain (along with some others) with many of these *brain supplement nutrients. I took them for a month under the recommendation of Joe Rogan who swears by them hoping not even for brain benefits, but purely hoping it would help me dream. Didn’t have one dream that month, and didn’t notice anything unique. My experience says not worth wasting your money. As for there safety, well just go on google and try to find some legitimate conclusive studies that look at one variable at a time. Also took fish oil pills for their “cognitive benefits” which is now being exposed as a scam that don’t help your brain at all. They do however help with joint lubrication and your heart and considering I hate fish, the nutrients probably do me well. It all depends on your diet, everything in moderation, you don’t want to over do it. I wonder if those “nutrients” like huperzine A are manufactured or natural. If they are chemically engineered though I’d be willing to bet they aren’t good for you and someone is just trying to make money.

@rattailbaby, well I can’t speak for everyone but weed did bring a little self-defeating thoughts. More so than that, it made me complacent, it made me just not care about everything. I don’t want to go through life blowing off my own life itself!

[Hidden]
Taylor Little (71) (@tlrlittle) 8 years, 9 months ago ago

@rattailbaby, Someone was just telling me to stop sucking on aluminum, it all makes sense now. I like how you are trying to raise awareness, sounds like a great way to get people to listen

[Hidden]
ELizard (229) (@heavydreamz) 8 years, 9 months ago ago

@taysand, we wouldnt need anything if we werent wasting time energy and recourses clogging our systems with toxic commercial junk with fillers and additives that literally cause you to need something more. Spend money were its worth spending, like real food that has real healing capacity. Its not as convenient as buying a miracle ‘cure’ pill but you are actually getting something that has value. Thats how they get ya, give you something convenient with a promise.

[Hidden]
Taylor (152) (@taysand) 8 years, 9 months ago ago

@tlrlittle, I believe I read (on the bottle) that huperzine A is a non essential amino acid. but hell, I dont know if that actually means anything. I think we’d all be better off moving to some random monastery out in asia and just meditate for the rest of our lives and grow real food ourselves haha

[Hidden]
Taylor (152) (@taysand) 8 years, 9 months ago ago

@heavydreamz, and then they claim the side affects came from something else entirely.. usually our “poor lifestyle habits”.. hmm ya think!?
Then basically it makes a chain reaction of disease that can be “cured” by some other toxin that will cause a new side affect and the cycle goes on.

Taylor Little (71) (@tlrlittle) 8 years, 9 months ago ago

@taysand, Haha well like I said, I was trying to use them to help me dream, they did nothing. I quit smoking weed and started meditating two weeks ago, and I’ve been having some whack ass dreams. I’m leaning toward meditation being the main cause. Just goes to show your body is perfectly capable of taking care of itself.

and this “Huperzine A is a substance purified from a plant called Chinese club moss. Although the makers of huperzine A start with a plant, their product is the result of a lot of laboratory manipulation.” makes me sceptical

@taysand, capitalism!

[Hidden]
Taylor (152) (@taysand) 8 years, 9 months ago ago

@tlrlittle, hmm, ya know I was discussing dreams with someone on here not too long ago. I didn’t know it before hand, but I think it was mentioned that the THC in weed is known to suppress your REM sleep cycle, which is when dreaming occurs. Not sure how accurate that is. Another reason could just be that when ya smoke at night, the weed is just affecting your short term memory so you dont remember anything in the morning. Really the only time i smoke anymore is at night to unwind, and I do sometimes remember my dreams but hardly ever. Perhaps I should do a little experiment to see how teh weedz are affecting my dreams too.
